MEET THE ARTIST

WHAT I USE

  • IPAD AIR + Apple Pencil
  • Samsung S20 FE + Finger or Tablet Stylus with Mesh Fiber and Disc tip
  • ART PROGRAMS (Digital)

  • Procreate
  • Price : 12.99 USD
(Bought it at 10 USD idk when the price changed... )
  • Subscription or One time payment : One time payment
  • Stores : Apple Only
  • Ads : No
  • Animation : Yes
  • Timelapse : Yes
  • Notes : Terrible “paint bucket tool” it sucks ass don’t use it.

  • Medibang
  • Price : Free.99
  • Subscription or One time payment : Subscription (Optional)
  • Stores : Apple + Google Play Store
  • Ads : Yes, banner, image & video ads
(Just turn off your wifi, you’ll be fine)
  • Animation : No
  • Timelapse : Yes
(but it kinda sucks imo... )
  • Notes : This is the only app I use for pixel art/sprite edits, does the job!

  • IbisPaintX
  • Price : Free.99
  • Subscription or One time payment : Subscription (Optional)
  • Stores : Apple + Google Play Store
  • Ads : Yes, banner & image ads (Just turn off your wifi, you’ll be fine)
  • Animation : No
  • Timelapse : Yes
  • Notes : I like the brushes & effects a lot :-]

  • Sketchbook
  • Price : Free.99
  • Subscription or One time payment : NA
  • Stores : Apple + Google Play Store
  • Ads : No
  • Animation : No
  • Timelapse : Yes
  • Notes : May have some trouble getting used to, especially if you’re used to using IbisPaint or Medibang. (But hey! No annoying ads!!)

  • Notes app + Freeform
  • It already comes with your phone or tablet. For free.
  • Freeform is Apple Only though,,
  • Notes : May have some trouble since these are not actual art programs. Freeform lags when there’s too many strokes on one board. Notes app hasn’t given me a lot of trouble but still be wary. (I haven’t done a lot on my phone so I can’t tell you anything about that.)

  • HiPaint
  • Price : Free.99
  • Subscription or One time payment : One time payment (Optional)
  • Stores : Apple + Google Play Store
  • Ads : Yes, banner ads (Just turn off your wifi, you’ll be fine)
  • Animation : Yes
  • Timelapse : Yes
  • Notes : I’ve recently started using it so I’m still new to it. I like it so far though! The only problem I’ve had so far was with the reference window. It shows the canvas upside down everytime. Idk if it’s just a me thing. If it’s not, it’s not a big deal. Just double tap to make it right side up. Also it’s not like Procreate like people have been saying. It’s a nice non-Apple only substitute for it though!

I don’t have any preferences on which is better. I like ‘em all! All of the original art assets have been drawn in Medibang and animated using HiPaint.
